Event and Room Policy

Northern Vermont University Libraries provides study rooms, meeting rooms, classrooms and other space for students, faculty, and staff of both NVU campuses.

Private study rooms are first come, first served.

The Vermont Room and the Instructional Materials Center (IMC) at Samuel Read Hall Library may be reserved by students, staff or faculty by asking a staff member at the InfoDesk.

All library spaces are to be used for academic functions and/or events such as readings, lectures, discussions, film or video showings, and meetings. Events which can be expected to generate noise and/or activity which could be disruptive to adjacent areas are discouraged.

Requests for events and rooms in the Library by those who are not affiliated with the College will be reviewed by the library and possibly the college administration. Fees for room use will apply via the NVU events coordinator. Charges for facility use will be in accordance with those charged by the Conference & Events Office.

The NVU Office of Information Technology will assess fees if technical assistance is needed for non-college affiliated events. All requests for special services must be made at the time of the reservation request.
